The 2nd Annual Grill and Chill at Honu is quickly approaching…June 16th from 1:00-4:00.
MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF NEBRASKA IS CELEBRATING THE
ANNIVERSEY OF OUR NEW HONU HOME!!
On Friday, June 16, from 1pm to 4pm--Honu Home will be hosting an open house to
celebrate the anniversary of our newest crisis respite house. Modeled after our successful
Keya House, Honu Home is funded through the Nebraska Department of Correction Services,
and is for individuals living with behavioral health issues coming out of state correctional
facilities and/or within 18 months of release.
Honu Home is run by peers with lived experience with mental health, addiction and/or previous
incarceration. Honu can serve up to 5 individuals at a time for up to 90 days free of charge.
Honu will assist participants transition back into the community to gain proper support and
employment through our supported employment program, Higher Opportunities Through The
Power of Employment (H.O.P.E.) and our outreach program, Respond. Empower. Advocate.

Learn all about our nationally accredited programs, run by people who have lived the experience
with behavior health recovery. Programs include supported employment and services that divert
people from costly levels of behavior health care. Some of our programs are the first of their
kind to be recognized!
