How To Help

Most of us know someone affected by a mental health issue. One in five Americans will experience a mental health condition this year, and nearly half will struggle with a diagnosable condition in their lifetime. Many suffer needlessly, avoiding help due to ignorance, shame, and stigma. But you can make a difference!

The Mental Health Association of Nebraska, Lancaster County Prevention Coalition, and Tobacco Free Lancaster County are partnering for a month-long campaign to raise awareness about mental health. And we invite you to join us!

In May, you can participate in Mental Health America's "Light Up Green" campaign. You can get involved by adding green lights to your home or business, posting a yard sign, sharing a social media post, or all three!

The #GreenLightProjectNE aims to reduce stigma by fostering conversations, showing support, and providing resources to those in need. Each partner agency will share social media posts throughout May so you can follow, like, and share. Register here by April 26th and pick up your free yard sign and light bulb on April 27-28! Beginning May 1, light bulbs and yard signs will be available at each partner location (3131 O Street (2nd Floor), Lincoln, NE 68508 or 1645 N Street, Lincoln, NE 68508) while supplies last!
